Frontier aims to develop our flagship Zandkopsdrift rare earth project in a way that will improve the social, environmental, and economic wellbeing of the local and effected Zandkopsdrift communities and the regions in which we operate. Frontier is dedicated to being a major, trusted and low carbon supplier of sustainably mined and processed rare earth products.

Reflecting these commitments, we intend to develop and operate Zandkopsdrift in compliance with the highest environmental, social, governance and sustainability standards and at all stages the impact on, and benefits flowing to, local Zandkopsdrift communities will be central to Frontier’s ESG approach.

Zandkopsdrift will produce critical green minerals, without which the global priorities of energy transition and decarbonisation cannot be achieved. The Zandkopsdrift mineral process flow will allow a high level of reagent, water and heat recovery, capture and utilisation, allowing the production of valuable by products from waste streams. A sea water desalination plant will ensure process water self-sufficiency at Zandkopsdrift and no utilisation of scare freshwater resources. Zandkopsdrift will utilize wholly renewable energy sources in keeping with our low carbon objectives.
